Stop Overthinking Content Creation: How To Write From Experience, Not Theory

Stop Overthinking Content Creation: How To Write From Experience, Not Theory

This blog is for you if you are trying to consistently create content to raise the profile of your healthcare business consultancy.

Have you ever vowed to start a podcast, blog, newsletter or consistently post on LinkedIn only to run out of ideas or give in to procrastination and start posting inconsistently?

I’ve been there. BUT… I am the proud author of over 250 blogs, and I just wrapped up publishing 11 pieces in January.

Article content

( Please note that the volume of content is because I write for 2 separate audiences. Those interested in the Business of Healthcare Leadership and Consulting, and those interested in The Business of Primary Care Networks.)

Whilst this was never an intentional strategy, my writing falls into three main categories:

1. The “How-To” Deep Dive content

This content aims to answer a specific question from my community.

This month, I published “How To Manage Your Additional Role Reimbursement Scheme Provider” because I saw someone ask this question in a WhatsApp group. There was a lot of engagement around the question, and it’s a topic I felt comfortable contributing to, and I could list some clear steps and questions.

2. The Numerical Framework

For example: “9 Essential Tools” and “The 3% Rule”

This content is easy to scan, and whilst it doesn’t answer a question from the community, I believe it will be helpful to you.

3. Industry Commentary and Summaries

My love of writing Commentary and summaries, specifically in relation to NHS guidance, comes from writing MBA writing assignments. I think I have found something I am particularly good at, which involves me reading documents and trying to summarise the key information.

Not everyone wants to dedicate the time to reading the 168 Darzi report, but perhaps, sadly, I do. I genuinely enjoy trying to keep up to date with the sector, and I have stuck to a style that makes it easier to produce the content.

The key

What makes this style of content easier to write is because I’m in it. I am a primary care leader managing seven-figure budgets, leading primary care network teams and also building my consultancy, so I write from my direct perspective. I am also incredibly lucky that this community really wants to share their perspectives with me, too.

BUT… the secret isn’t just about writing frameworks or content styles. It’s about having the confidence to share your thoughts and ideas.

So…. Share what you know….. and you know a lot.

If you’re not confident about sharing the answer…. Share your questions and your experiences.

I hope this helps.
